Trip to Walton-on-the-Naze 2008
Hi to all you Beaver people. On Saturday 14th June we had a trip to Walton-on-the-Naze. The weather was kind to some of us but a little bit naughty to others. There were 64 travelling in a coach and two minibuses plus we met another 10 people down there who made their own way. The 4th, 6th, 9th, 11th, 15th and 21st took part.
When we arrived it was the usual toilet rush and then each Group made their own entertainment for the day. The 9th and 15th made straight to the beach, where the kids wasted no time in getting undressed and in the sea. Not wanting to be left out Akela (ADC Cubs) soon followed and Honest Leigh paddled her feet. I thought if you cant beat them, join them, so over to the loo I went to get my trunks on. As I came back to the beach, Alice of the 15th saw me first and burst out laughing, which started the rest off, the reason being my new trunks - bought special for the day - looked like pedal pushers on my little legs. Straight in the sea I went (don’t believe a Beaver, they told me it wasn’t cold), even my goose bumps had goose bumps.
Swim I did with Morgan & Nadia (9th) then a few more joined in. Soon we all got dressed and headed to the pier, where Jadie (15th) found information for wrist bands. Julie (9th) & myself, with another helper, went to see the manager and had a few nice words and he let us have the wrist bands for £5 instead of £10 as we bought a bulk lot. The kids enjoyed themselves a lot, while we were on the pier the heavens opened up for a few minutes but it was enough for those still outside to have a free shower. We left Walton at 5 p.m. and I was told by someone on the coach that our ADC Beavers had more than 40 winks!
I would like to thank Steve of the 9th for driving our minibus while I drove the minibus from the 21st and a big thank you to them for making the day possible.

On Saturday I went to Walton on the Naze. I had to wake up quite early because I had to make my packed lunch.
We waited for the coach and I sat next to my friend Luke. We played noughts and crosses on the way there.
When we arrived we went to the beach. The sea was very cold. I found two live crabs and one big dead one. We also built sandcastles and collected shells.
We played some ball games and got sand in our toes. I had a good day.

At Walton-on-the-Naze we jumped over the waves and tried to run away from them too. We bought some chips at the shop and we saw some people on boats.
We went looking for crabs and found a big dead one and two that were alive.
We had lots of fun in the water playing.
