A Project for 5-10 year olds!
Following the success of RSPB's nationwide Big Garden Bird Watch, River Thames Guide (RTG) has teamed up with The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) to create a project aimed at children aged 5-10 in the London and Greater London areas.
ThamesWatch hopes to encourage children between 5 and 10 years old to embrace the open spaces around them through bird watching activities in the River Thames area. ThamesWatch will take place throughout June and will be supported by the ThamesWatch website where children can learn about aspects of the River Thames and RSPB as well as comment on their bird watching experiences and post photos of any birds or other species they spotted.
We hope to make children aware of the beauty of birdlife and river life that is on their doorstep and the importance of sustaining this environment for the future. This project maybe suitable for your beaver/ cub group as part of an activity badge such as the Explore badge for beavers or the Naturalist badge for cubs.

Bad 5 Mile Run & 3K Fun Run
Eastbrookend Country Park
Sunday 1st June 2008
This year we will be returning to this venue after a successful event last year. The route will cover mostly parkland which will ensure better health and safety for all the races.
The route is multi terrain but the majority of the course is flat.
The 5 mile run is open to affiliated and non-affiliated runners alike and we encourage everyone to enter any of the races to compete, have fun, keep fit or simply fund raise for their chosen charities.
The 3km fun run can be entered by all ages and this year we have 3 different race categories.
