Barking & Dagenham Explorers

Each Explorer section meets on alternate Tuesdays. One week will be the Cook Explorer Section, and then the Columbus Explorer Section. Sometimes, both sections meet up for an 'Everybody Night', usually for celebrations and camp meetings.

Each night we try and do something 'Scouty' such as Knots, Cooking, Maps and Compass and others. But the majority of our time is spent on planning events such as Camp BADX '08, doing things like Racing Sedan Chairs and playing Poison as well as being able to see our mates.

A typical night would be:

20:15 - Flag Break
20:20 - Game (Something like Poison or Dragon Slayer)
20:40 - Main Activity for the Evening (such as completing a part of the Explorer Challenge)
21:30 - Game (Yes, more games, we're just big sized Beavers really).
21:40 - Notices/Announcements
21:45 - Flag Break and then home...

Each Section (Cook and Columbus) is made up of different Explorers from different Scout groups. Depending on what Scout group you come from, depends on what section you go into*. Here's how it works, if you're from the:

1st, 6th, 8th, 10/18th, 12th, 16th or 19th then your group is the Cook Explorer Section

4th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 15th, 17th or 21st then your group is the Columbus Explorer Section

An outside Scout Group/not a Scout then please contact the Explorer Webmaster or Explorer Leaders and they will assist you.

*There are some exceptions.
