Gilwell Park Junior Service Team
The Junior Service Team (JST) acts in the exact way as
the regular service team on a campsite but is aimed at people aged between 14-18! The JST
provide a volunteer service for Gilwell Park Scout Activity Centre and
assist in the general maintenance of the campsite and assist in the running
of several major events such as Cub and Beaver Fundays and working weekends!
So you want to volunteer as a
JST member at Gilwell Park yes? It's really simple, all you've got to do is
download the
JST Membership Pack,
fill it in and send it off, then, whenever a new event comes up, you'll be
able to help out!!If you
get stuck, contact Jason, the B&D Junior Service Team
Rep. and he will help you out!!
There are all kinds of things
you can do from the worst things like cleaning toilets to the really fun
things like the running of an activity, and loads in between!
You could be asked to do
anything the regular service team do!!
What have we
done?
The JST members from Barking &
Dagenham have already volunteered at Gilwell Park Scout Activity Centre
several times over the last year. We worked at the Cub & Beaver Fundays which was a
lot of fun! We have also been on several working weekends where we helped with
the site maintenance from silly little things like clearing guttering to
welding alter fires back together!2007 was a very good year for
the Junior Service Team from Dagenham and we hope that 2008 will be an even
better one!

What's
involved?
At present there are about 3
active JST members from Barking & Dagenham, who regularly participate in the
working weekends and events, however there are more JST members from other
districts and others from Barking and Dagenham who do volunteer. The JST are
always looking for more Explorer who wish to volunteer their time!
How can I get
involved?
