Hiya, we're the Barking & Dagenham Explorer Section. We consist of two groups, the Cook side, and the Columbus side, both named after famous world explorers. We've got on average about 30 Explorers who attend regularly, and many more keep turning up.

This Year
So far this year we've had two of our Explorer's participate in Gilwell Park's Winter Camp, attend the County Swimming Gala, got our County football team sorted and taken part in the district St. George's Day Parade.

We've also got a busy year coming up with the District Football Competition, District AGM, Cub and Beaver Fundays, JST Working Weekends, Gilwell 24, Danish Camp and Camp BADX '08!

Camp BADX is the Explorer run camp from Barking & Dagenham Explorers. It's run solely by the Explorers for the Explorers every year during the October half term holiday...

Woodsmoke is the monthly newsletter for the Scout District of Barking & Dagenham (within the Scout County of Greater London North East)

Published monthly, Woodsmoke contains regular columns from the District Team and contains a wealth of information on upcoming events, both locally and spread across the country

Woodsmoke also has many contributions from young people and leaders, and everyone is welcome to submit an article, interesting piece or even just a photo to the editor.
