Chess Competition - 3 February - 17th HQ

This years competition was quite close . Not only was the technical standard high but the show of sportsmanship and ‘scouting spirit’ stood out too. The two highest scoring Cubs from each league went on to a ‘final’ league where the best played the best.

Thanks to the 17th for hosting the event and keeping us ‘refreshed’, to the judges who had a very difficult job, to the leaders who helped out and most importantly of all to the Cubs who made the competition run so well.

Cub Quiz - 19 October - 21st HQ

Just 3 packs were represented this year, 7th, 9th and 12th. They were split into 4 even teams and proceeded to make enough noise to fill the hall anyway despite the numbers. In the end the top two teams were from the 9th so they went on to the County Quiz.

They did very well (and were certainly much better behaved than some of the other teams!) and came a commendable 6th overall with just a few points seperating the top team from the bottom teams.

Well done and thank you to all the leaders and cubs that turned up and helped at both quizzes.

2nd Place - 17th T with 181 points
3rd Place - 16th with 177.5 points

Nature Trophy
1st Place - 9th and 15th
2nd Place - 4th, 6th, 7th, 12th, 17th U, 17th T and 21st (!)
3rd Place - 16th
